Barcelona Ready for Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
